Government has appointed Mr. Dickson Chasambira on 8th August, 2018 as the new Director of Central Internal Audit Unit after the position fell vacant in March 2016. Mr. Chasambira has been heading the office in an acting capacity for over two years. He joined the service in 2005 as an Internal Auditor and rose to the rank of Director after serving in various ministries at different grades.

The Director possesses a Masters Degree in Audit Management and Consultancy and Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors and  a Fellow Certified Chartered Accountant (FCCA).

His appointment will provide policy direction for the Internal Audit Service in Government as well as provision of a platform for the continuation of major projects.
